Where the wind comes sweeping down the plains...

Image
If by "sweeping" you mean with the rage of an overstimulated mom with company coming over, then sure. The Oklahoma wind comes sweeping  down the plains. SURPRISE! ha. If you really know Zac or myself, you would know that we started seriously considering moving to Oklahoma back around 2022. Then we just kept living life and it wasn't working out aka we weren't being obedient to where we were being called. God wanted us to move. We both felt called, but apparently we weren't going to do it on our own. I've seen recently, a quote about how God will let you go to places you didn't need to go, to get you to places you need to be. Yep, I can fully attest to that.  So we took an offer to live in North Carolina. I made a post about some of it in May of 2024, ( read that here ) but in April 2024 we moved. We left Grand Junction, left Colorado. Where I'd lived the last 20 something years of my life, where I was born, where all 4 of my kids were born, where I m...

When I Said Exciting Things Were Coming...

Image
Did I mention a cross country move?! Cause we did that.  From the desert, to the ocean. If you followed along with my Instagram or Facebook, then you somewhat know of the challenge it was to get here. (In summary, the Western Slope Curse is a very real thing, lol.) I could give you a day-by-day rundown of what has happened since we arrived, but I will save that for another, better post. In the meantime, just know that things are not at all what we were told  they would be. Its been a lot of feeling like we have been 100% in survival mode.  Aside from the beauty and amazing people here in North Carolina. I could focus on the negative, or I could tell you that Zac has taken the oldest two fishing or just in the canoe every day. I got to see the ocean WITH my kids, and their minds were blown. We've eaten BoJangles, Moe's, and my kids are catching fish for dinner.  I found a super cute (Veteran Owned!) salon, with the sweetest stylist who did a small chop for me t...

Oh, hi!

WELL HELLO THERE! Its only been 11 months since I last posted, haha. (12*)  When I tell you A LOT has happened... For starters, let me introduce you to Waylon!  He was my first home-birth, just before Easter, and WOW what an experience!  The last couple of posts were - I'm pregnant! We went to a BBQ restaurant! I'm pregnant again! lol. He is an awesome little boy. It took him about a month, but he is finally enjoying being a big brother! Maybe this is going to sound like a Christmas letter... but hey, we are 10 days out so why not?! (okay, so it's now January. Where did December go?) Miss Annabell was born on the Autumn Equinox, into Zac's arms. She has been the sweetest addition to our family.  Orin and Kalia have been the best biggest siblings, and have (for the most part) enjoyed stepping into these roles. It IS incredibly weird to say that I have 4 kids.  I'm still in my Jeep. Zac did add a 3rd row in the back. RIP trunk space. We have some really exc...

I guess we're doing this again...

Lets see who reads the blog, haha.  A couple of weeks ago, I had 0 motivation to show up on social media, or really anywhere in my life. Which seemed like it came out of nowhere, at almost 9 months postpartum I've been doing and feeling pretty good! I put on some makeup though, and showed up in my IG stories. My makeup was done in my basic "everyday makeup" fashion.. nothing extra, nothing special.. I didn't even use highlighter, and a friend commented that my makeup looked "especially glowy" that day. And then came the forgetfulness. Like, I would forget what I was saying mid-sentence. A problem I had when I was pregnant with Waylon. Zac was like, "do you need to pee on a stick?" haha.  Turns out, F Baby #4 will be joining us this Fall! Updates this far for anyone who wants to know: Now, today is January 23rd. I'm very tired, and I don't really want to eat anything, with the exception of Taco Bell's Chips & Cheese. I still have n...

We had decided to take a late summer adventure to Marble, Colorado.  Our intention was to do some hiking, eat some BBQ and see the Crystal Mill, and well... Fried okra and onion rings. Pulled pork sandwich. A side of baked beans. Pulled pork "Hillybilly Nachos" Slow Groovin' BBQ has been around since 2010. They are open seasonally, from May 1st until October 31st. 11am-9pm daily Here is their full menu:  (*Note, the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies were SO good. We took them to-go so we could continue our adventure to the Crystal Mill!)   Highly reccommend stopping here if you are ever near Marble, and especially if you are adventuring to the Crystal Mill! Thank you for reading! _ Marcie A.F.

Third Time's a Charm

Image
I would like to say that I really thought I would do better this time, in not waiting so long to announce and talk about this on my blog... But here I am in the 3rd trimester of my 3rd pregnancy haha. I like to say that this pregnancy has felt like a combinitaion of the other two.  In the first trimester, I was naseous but not horribly sick. The second trimester has been a mental struggle. It is difficult to even write that, because it sucks to admit. But it has made it difficult to show up where and how I want to. Not like, to the grocery store (although being pregnant, toting a 4.5 year old and almost 3 year old is not always fun there haha) but showing up for myself, or other things I have committed to, or want to commit to.  It is something I am working on, while also keeping the knowledge that I only have 12 more weeks of feeling like this before little Mr will be here. Little Mr, because we are having another boy! I would share our gender reveal video... but we tr...
