The Beginning of the Best Adventure

On the morning of November 13th, 2014, I married my best friend.

Some people see this as a "sudden decision", acting like we were just jumping into something.

October of 2012 I started talking to Zac. January 2013 we started dating. April 2013 we fell in a kind of love you only read about in fairy tales, and cheesy rom-coms. July 2013 I moved in with Zac. October 2014 we decided it was going to happen soon. November 2014 it happened.

Not a sudden decision at all.
"Are you sure you want it to be that way?" "You don't want people making a big deal about it?" "Why? Isn't it every girls dream to have a big fancy wedding? Marrying the man of your dreams? Bridesmaids? Big dress? Huge party?!" Even the lady doing my nails inquired as to why I didn't bring a whole group of girls in for my wedding.

Nope. Let me simplify it for you;
First off, yes. I did once dream of having a huge fancy wedding, with a beautiful dress, the works. But my Grandpa died September 2013... That changed everything. He was supposed to walk me down the isle. After he was gone...it wouldn't be the same without him. So that started everything. Secondly, I don't want to pay a bunch of money, end up in debt renting out a big event place, buying a dress I'm only going to wear one time, buying enough food/alcohol for enough people  to show up...stressing out making sure everyone else is having a good time, worrying about what people are going to say about your reception, etc.

Call me old fashioned, but marrying someone is supposed to be about spending the rest of your life with someone... Sharing your dreams, goals, fears, hopes...sharing your soul with someone who understands you better than you understand yourself. Someone who knows how you're feeling no matter how hard you try to act differently... Someone who can make you weak in the knees, take your breath away... Who loves you, believes in you, not only supports your dreams but helps you get there... Everything you hear about in those cheesy movies and stories...
Just being with them. And frankly, not everyone gets to find the person they've always dreamed about being with. I did. And that in itself is special enough.
Marriage is about the Bride and Groom.
Weddings are about celebrating them.

So on Thursday, November 13th, 2014, Zac and I decided to do just that.

We invited our moms and my brother (who convinently had the day off).
And at 1:55 P.M. we became eternally united.

It was small, it was peaceful, and we couldn't be happier about that.

Mr. and Mrs. Zachary John Frantz

After we filled out the license and signed our certificate, we went to the front of the courthouse where there was a BEAUTIFUL grand staircase we decided to sit on and take our first newlywed pictures. We exchanged rings, stared into each others eyes..kissed...

I was so excited to see those pictures. While staring into Zac's eyes...I felt so much love... the way we looked into each other's eyes...I know there was so much love to be seen there.

Nobody has pictures of that moment! George took at least 3 pictures and somehow they didn't end up on the negatives. Every other camera had some reason for failing in that moment.
Our moms say it happened so quickly and there wasn't time to get a picture.
Zac and I feel like we sat there for at least 5 minutes.

I'm okay with not having pictures of it, because it leaves that memory in our minds forever. It's OUR memory of OUR wedding day, that only we have. And I love that.

So thankful to have been able to have my mom and George there!

We also had a couple shots of Gentleman's Jack..that we started calling Wedding Whiskey..which we saved a couple shots for our 1 year anniversary!

George (my brother) was the honorary Maid Of Honor - Or as I kept calling him my MOH
He was also the honorary Groomsman. :)

This is The Old County Courthouse in Breckenridge, Colorado.
This is where we got married!

Me and my lovely boquet my mom made for me! She also put a picture of my grandpa in it! <3

And a HUGE thank you goes to George for driving out there while we were in the Jeep.
George, my Mom (Valerie) and my mother in law (Diana) for taking pictures! :D
