Make It Happen
Hello everyone and welcome to a new year!
(yes, I know we are already 8 days in and everyone else has done these posts already..but what can I say? It's been a busy year so far!)
Everyone sets goals, resolutions, etc at the beginning of a new year. But do they stick with them? Not usually. Some people do, but a lot of the time even I havent.
I actually heard from someone the other day, when I answered that I lost weight through Yoga that the "wished" they could do yoga, but couldn't because of a bad knee.
Let me start right here. I also have a bad knee. While skiing one time (my first time) I fell and my ski didn't detach...I didn't really get it checked out..that was back in 2012 and it still hurts and gives me issues to this day.
This person said they couldn't do the kneeling in yoga.
Here we go.
This is how to complete your goals.
How to make the things you want, and to make your life happen.
DO NOT make limitations for yourself.
(in this example, just don't do positions that involve your knees! Yoga is flexible in more ways than one. You tweak routines to fit yourself)
Setting a limitation for yourself, and believing you cannot go past it is insane.
Sure, you may be limited on what you can and can't do, but for every thing else you need to at least try before you say you cant do something.
When I was in kindergarten, I had a fear of heights. My gym teacher was having us do rope climbs. I told her I couldn't do it. (I hated my gym teacher, she wasn't the greatest teacher, she ended up getting fired...but nevertheless what your about to read is gold)
She told us that "can't" means you won't try.
I didn't realize how important that phrase was until about 18 years later.
So you have to at least try something before you say you cannot do it.
It's like saying you aren't going to like pizza, for whatever reason, but you haven't ever tried it. How are you going to actually know that the taste of pizza is going to disgust you if you have never even taken a bite of one? How will you ever know if you refuse to take a bite of one? It's a surefire way to make sure your life is full of "what ifs".
That is the first, and biggest step in completing your goals.
Trying.
I am going to share with you some of my goals for 2015, and how I am going to make sure they happen.

I am going to share with you some of my goals for 2015, and how I am going to make sure they happen.
- Make more YouTube videos, and blog posts.
- I am going to make this happen by mapping the posts out in advance, so that when the day to publish or upload comes, I'm not going to put it off by saying it's not ready. I have found some awesome websites to help with blog planning, and I am even working on creating a blog/YouTube binder! (You can find inserts for these anywhere, just look on Pinterest)
- I am going to hold myself to a schedule, and hold myself accountable by tweeting and posting about them, so people expect them.
- Keep up with laundry and cleaning
- I live with my husband and 3 roommates. Getting a chance to use the washer is sometimes difficult with 3 other grown adults trying to wash a months worth of clothes. So to keep myself accountable for this, I am either going to pick one day a week or do one load every night to keep mine and Zac's clothes clean and put away. (last year I found myself getting behind quite frequently...and actually as I type this there is a rather large pile of clothes to be washed and 2 baskets that need to be put away...so you know what I'm doing after this is published ;) )
- Stay organized
- I plan to do this by documenting almost everything in my DayTimer, and planning things out in my kitchen, blog and household binders. (again, you can find resources everywhere)
- As they say, failing to plan is planning to fail. I feel that if I plan everything out, write everything down, then I am setting myself up to succeed at achieving my goals.
You can always tell people you trust about your goals. Find someone who is going to help hold you accountable for them. Maybe you want to workout more. Find someone who will do it with you, and hold you accountable for it.
This is the reason I am using a DayTimer...so I can write my goals for each day so at the end of the day I can feel good checking off what I accomplished...and what I didn't will be written there, un-highlighted so I will know it still needs to be done.
One of my other goals (as it is every year) is to inspire people. So hopefully I can help you all with your goals.
I am planning to do videos and posts on here about planners, because they are lifesavers.
Let me know if you all have any goal-achieving tips and what your goals are!
