Peppers

So, you probably are thinking, "Marcie, didn't you do a post about peppers already?" or maybe you're thinking "wow, a post that's not about the bus!" or, "How did I end up on this page, who is she and what year is it?!" To answer your questions, yes. I did a post on Peppers and Onions. Which you can find here. However, that post is how to cook peppers and onions. THIS post is why I enjoy peppers, what they do for you, and why I put them in almost everything I cook.

Peppers are in the same family as tomatoes, eggplant and potatoes. All pepper varieties (Bell Pepper, Chili Pepper, Habanero, etc) help with your immune system, vision and cell growth because they are rich in Vitamin A and C. They also help with heart, organ health, metabolism, and healthy bowel movements due to the ammounts of folic acid, posassium, and fiber. The hot peppers contain capsaicn (the spicy-ness) which can reduce pain and potentially ward off cancer.

I add bell peppers to my taco meat, spaghetti sauce, chili, and lots of other recipes you can find here!

If you want a spicy kick to your dish, the Habanero  is the hottest. (These are the tiny orange ones) The Anaheim is the least spicy, next to the Bell Peppers that have no kick to them. Just sweet and yummy!
