Fall Skincare Favorites
My skincare routine generally stays the same throughout the year, but in the Fall and Winter (especially in dry Colorado) I have to change it up a bit. I find it necessary to do this, because it would be horrible to go into a Winter with already dry skin. Something that I have found in my years of experimenting in skincare, is that no matter how oily, or how greasy your skin is (or feels) it is ESSENTIAL to moisturize
I am someone who has combination skin, oily with dry patches.
I've used products made to dry my skin out- severely dried my face. Products made specifically for acne - dried my face out, made me break out, irritated my skin. It's been a battle for oh about 13 years. I am finally in a place where I feel like I have a handle on my skincare. I know what my face (generally) does based on hormones, diet, and products used.
In the morning, I will use a cleansing face wipe from Simple. These wipes are perfect for wiping off any lotions, creams, anything you may have worn overnight.
I will also use them in the evening to remove my makeup!
Micellar Water is typically what I reach for next, morning or night. This is great for removing any residual makeup, lotion, sweat, or random dirt from the day.
I have also been known to wipe my face down when it was hot this summer or after a workout with Micellar water, with a cotton pad.
I have been enjoying Biore's line of face wash lately. I am currently using the skin balancing wash for combination skin. This unclogs pores and cleanses skin without taking away precious moisture.
For a little over a year now, I have been using Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner. After a shower or wash my face, morning or night, usually both, I use a little spritzer bottle from the travel section or put some on a cotton pad, and apply to my face. Sure, it burns a little. But it neutralizes the PH of your skin. It helps keep my random pimples at bay.
Definitely hold your breath if spritzing, its enough to take your breath away haha.
Currently, I am using Valentia's Pure Glow Moisturizer. I love this one, because it's made to hydrate your face all day, but you can use it at night as well! It contains Hyaluronic acid, Kojic acid, Ginseng, Safflower oil and shea butter. All of these aid in hydrating and nourishing the skin.
So far, it has helped my face stay hydrated, prevented the random dry patches, and it smells good!
If it's nightime, I will use some lip balm and go to sleep. If it's daytime, and I'm wearing makeup that day, I will go on to wear It Cosmetics CC+ Your Skin But Better Illuminating foundation. I have found that this foundation works with my skin so much better than every other foundation I have tried. I believe that it has helped my skin as well!
Make sure you check out Valentia. They have a wide variety of products to check out! You can buy the Pure Glow Moisturizer on Amazon!
