Oh would you look at that. We're already a month into 2017 and I'm just now writing a post. Time flies when you're having fun, I suppose!

Well we finally went on our trip to the East Coast! Only 3 months later than originally planned...but hey, life happens! For starters, it took SO MUCH longer to sell my car than we hoped. (The end of October) Then the transmission desperately needed to be replaced in the bus. When I say desperately, I mean it sounded like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre inside of our engine. Not good! That took most of the money we had, plus all the money we had saved to go on this trip. We're talking like $2200. So we had to chill and wait until we were able to leave in December.

While we were waiting around during the month of November, we found out that I am pregnant!

Wasn't that a surprise! We found out November 11th. Since I knew we'd be in town until the beginning of December, I went ahead and set up an appointment for an ultrasound. They couldn't schedule me until December 8th. By the time of that appointment, I was 8 weeks pregnant. The above ultrasound is 14 weeks, taken a little over a week ago!

Needless to say, I had HORRIBLE morning sickness. I will cover all the pregnancy symptoms, how we found out, etc in a 1st Trimester Post coming later this week! But the morning sickness is mostly what kept me off social media for awhile. I was still very sick when we finally left on December 9th. We didn't have wifi hardly anywhere we stayed, and when we did have it, the signal was far too weak to upload any videos, hence why there was no Vlogmas.

Now for the fun part, our adventure!
(Some of it, anyway!)

On The U.S.S. North Carolina in Wilmington, NC
These pictures aren't in order of where we went at all. The vlog footage we have will be though! We started out taking highway 70 east out of Denver and into Kansas. It took 2 days to get to our first destination at my dads house in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. We were there for about a week. It was such a wonderful time! We went to my step-nephew's Christmas program, thrift shopping, and to the Osage Casino!

Awesome, Giant Tree at Fort Fisher, NC

Our next destination was North Carolina. We went through Arkansas and Tennessee. It was so cool to finally be able to see all of these places! Our first stop in North Carolina was in Hickory, to see one of Zac's friends. We then traveled to Raleigh to see some more of his friends!

The F Bus on a Ferry in Aurora, NC

Then we were off to see his dad in Littleton, NC. We stayed with him for a week as well. While we were there, Zac made the wreath for the bus (pictured above). We explored some of the woods out there. It was absolutely crazy to me how big the trees were, and how green everything still was! I can't imagine what summer looks like out there!

Bodie Island Lighthouse, Nags Head, NC

Next, we were off to Wilmington to get together with Zac's family for Christmas. It is safe to say I had a true Southern Christmas! We also went to one of the many aquariums that NC has, We visited 3 different beaches, a lighthouse (SO cool!) and we got to go inside the battleship U.S.S. North Carolina!

Sunset in Mobeetie, TX

Our last stop in North Carolina was Swan Quarter. There, I got to meet the rest (mostly) of Zac's family. We celebrated the New Year, ate the best shrimp, scallops and crab cakes I've ever had, ever. We also got to see inside of some fishing boats!

Root Ball of a Tree that had been blown over in Littleton, NC

Finally, we headed back home to Colorado. Initally, we had planned to stay longer, then travel other places I've never been. Maybe down through Texas, maybe the west coast. Who knows. But I had to get back to Denver for my next ultrasound appointment that was scheduled January 19th. My 14 week appointment!

Carolina Beach, NC

We are now in Pueblo, trying to find a home in Colorado Springs to have our little baby in!

During this trip, even though I hardly ever felt like eating anything, we had the opportunity to eat at a bunch of yummy restaurants! Stay tuned for those reviews over on Zomato!
