Second Trimester Update, and What's Been Going on in the Third Trimester
Now that I only have about 3 weeks left (ahh!) until this little boy is in my arms, I figured I better get on this while it is still fresh in my mind!
The second trimester honestly went pretty much like the First Trimester... without the constant throwing up.
I still hadn't wanted to eat anything, especially meat. I still suffered at night, getting up to pee what seemed like a thousand times, not being able to sleep on my back has been rough. My dreams also started to become more vivid and SO weird.
I still didn't have much energy to do anything, and I was nauseous most of the time.
The one really exciting thing that happened though, was REALLY feeling him move! Towards the end of the first trimester I felt little tiny movements that felt like gas bubbles... But in this trimester I actually got to see my belly move! It was the coolest/craziest feeling ever!
So ya know pretty much the same stuff.
Third Trimester Changes!
This week I am 37 weeks pregnant!
He moves SO much now!
In the last few weeks, for the first time this entire pregnancy I have actually WANTED to eat. I've actually been hungry. Which is awesome, because I was getting so tired of not wanting to eat!
Meat still doesn't sound the greatest, I can eat it if it is in a recipe or something but I don't want chicken or beef or anything just by itself. Last week I even started craving fried chicken! (That's a shocker, considering how much it revolted me in the first trimester...horrible timing to go to North Carolina lol)
Throughout this entire pregnancy, Wendy's Jr Cheeseburgers only ketchup and mayo and their chili sauce have sounded so good, along with the Pikes Peak or Bust (veggie sub) from Silver Mine subs have never not sounded good.
As far as sleeping goes... well I would feel so lucky to sleep longer than two hours at a time. But I either wake up to pee, wake up from an insanely weird dream, get woken up by Zac to get off my back, or just wake up and can't go back to sleep.
I've had Braxton Hix contractions since about the second trimester, but lately they have gotten stronger!
I'm now on weekly OB appointments, and at the last one (35 weeks) I found out that everything is measuring right where its supposed to be and his little head is facing downward! (again, ahh!)
I had my baby shower at the beginning of June and that was pretty fun! We got lots of cute outfits, and great books! One of the best tips I could give for mamas-to-be having baby showers is to ask for a book instead of a card! I think it's more meaningful, and does anybody actually care about the cards 20 years down the road? I keep all of my cards I've gotten over the years, but starting a book collection for my child seemed like a better thing to do.
Things got so much more real a couple of weeks ago when we bought and installed our car seat in the van!
I am so excited and nervous! I feel like I've read all the mommy blogs, books, everything I possibly can on Pinterest and at the same time I feel so unprepared! I'm sure this is something that all pregnant mamas go through.. but wow this is all just so crazy! There are so many emotions! Zac on the other hand is just plain excited...he's wanted a baby for as long as he can remember!
I'm going to leave this all here for now so this post isn't too long. ;)
